i am confused and kept thinking about my course in college these days. i love MedTech but i realized, after thinking about my future for a long time during the typhoon Pedring(yeah i'm serious about this typhoon thing) Broadcasting and Journalism can make me happier. ahh~~~~ i don't know..i am so confused!!! 1st semester is ending and my mom said that i should decide if i want to shift my course or stick to it.
when i said to my mom that i want to shift and i want to take up Broadcasting, she said a lot:- you don't want to be a Doctor anymore?
- how about Biology?
- why Broadcasting?
- it's awkward when you chose Broadcasting over MedTech
- it's hard to find a job
- are you stupid?
- it's hard to find work in the States when you graduated form Journalism or Broadcasting..or simply Mass Communications (this is my most HATED comment from my mom)
- take up Commerce or any course about business
- take up Pharmacy. (what???!!!!!!)
- and a lot more..
her friend from the States said something too: (she messaged me from fb)
If you think Medtech is not foryou then you need to find your nich. Kung Journalism/boadcasting ang gusto mo do it. As long as you do good and finish your program. Mahirap kung palipat lipat ka ng filed baka wala kang matapos.
Sa Journalism/broadcasting mahirap humanap ng work lalo na kung wala kang kilala. Sa healthcare as a medtech madali ang pumasok sa work at in demand yan dito sa US.
Medtech is very challenging. Been there done that so you really need to think. It is still early and you won't waste money at least you get some of your pre req.
Your mom and dad might not say yes, but you need to explain to them why and give them assurance that you will finish your chosen program.
magaral ka and finish your degree dahil this is your security wherever you go. Alam mo dito sa US ngayon may recession kaya pag wala l kang natapos hindi ka priority kung namimili sila ng paplicants nila sa mga companies.

mama, don't you know that MedTech in the Philippines started from the Pharmacy graduates. it'll be the same :/ also, i am not good in Math so can't take up courses about business. and..our family tree is full of graduates of medical courses. i want something new. lastly, i don't care about America's view in Mass Communication graduates,ok? i like here in the Philippines. i want to work, live and die in the Philippines.
WHY DO FILIPINOS THINK AMERICA IS THE BEST PLACE TO LIVE IN? for me, THEY ARE WRONG!!!
my dear fellowmen, don't blame the government if your future is not good! there is a word called PERSEVERANCE.
