MY SUCCESSFUL BLOOD DONATION

yes! you heard it right..BLOOD DONATION!!!

it is said that Philippines is having the blood supply crisis. so, Manila Allied Lions Club, in coordination with the Philippine Blood Center, held a Blood Letting Event last Aug.11-12,2011 at the Pavilion in Far Eastern University. there are students and other personnel and staff of FEU who gave a part of their life to save other lives. but when my blockmates and I asked the staff of the Blood Letting Event, they said that there are more donors last year than this 2011. that's sad. only my classmate,Malou, and I donated blood among our friends. Carol wants to donate blood but she was not allowed because she takes antibiotics that time. So Malou and I were really nervous. it is true that the needle for blood donation is like the straw of a tetra-pack juice[for the Filipinos!! you know the zesto straw?? that's it] :

we filled out forms, interviewed by doctors, a long process before the donation. THEN FINALLY! our turn to donate blood. Malou and I were really nervous! my friends are supporting me and Malou at our back. then there goes the guy who will get my blood. guess what? the guy is so CUTE!!! my friends were really crazy. we took a picture of him.hahaha!!!

he showed me the tender-loving-care while getting blood from me. oh my gosh! he is super sweet!!!!and cute!!! oh that's me lying on the bed and that's Aura, one of my friends ^__^

and because of him, i didn't feel any pain..KIDDING!xD it kinda hurt while he is inserting the needle to my vein. my friends said, "Judith don't look at it! You'll get more nervous." but i am a brat! haha! i looked at the needle entering my vein and the whole process actually. when the needle entered my vein already, it immediately sucked blood and went to the blood bag. but Malou didn't look at the needle entering her vein. haha!

see? i am looking at the whole process. and look at his beautiful hands..hahahahaha...

the donors received a coffee tumbler..it is so cute. i'm not gonna use it..it's a great REMEMBRANCE =)

this experience is scary~ BUT interesting and fulfilling.how about you? why don't you donate blood and save lives? during the donation, my mind is telling me something, "wow! i can see the lives that will be saved by my blood." that time was an unforgettable day and experience. thank you so much Aura for the photos and thank you to my friends who supported me and Malou..i love you girls~ i hope i can do this again =)
